ProtoQuick ("the App") is a personal reference tool for EMS professionals to store, organize, and quickly access clinical protocols, personal notes, code/arrest timing logs, and certification records. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
ProtoQuick does not operate its own servers and does not collect, store, or have access to your data. Your protocols, notes, code logs, certifications, and contacts are stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced privately through your own Apple iCloud account. The developer of ProtoQuick cannot see, access, or download this data at any time.
All content you create in the App — protocols, personal notes, code session logs, certification records, and contacts — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
If you are signed into iCloud, this data also syncs through Apple's CloudKit service to your private iCloud database. This sync:
If you are not signed into iCloud, or choose to disable iCloud for the App in your device Settings, your data remains local to that device only and will not be recoverable if the device is lost, damaged, or replaced.
The App includes an optional feature that uses artificial intelligence to extract individual protocols from a PDF document you upload. To use this feature, you must provide your own API key from Anthropic (the maker of Claude), obtained directly from Anthropic at console.anthropic.com.

This feature is entirely optional. The App is fully usable without an Anthropic API key by adding protocols manually.
The App includes an optional feature allowing you to exchange a "contact card" directly with another EMS professional (e.g., via AirDrop or Messages) so you can add them as a contact. This exchange:
You separately control what name is shown on your contact card via the App's Settings screen.
The App allows you to export a file containing protocols from your vault, to share with another EMS professional via AirDrop, Messages, email, or similar. This export happens entirely on-device and is not transmitted to or stored by the developer.
If you choose to track certifications and grant notification permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device to remind you of upcoming or passed certification expiration dates. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device by iOS and do not involve any external server or push notification service.
Because all data is stored on your device (and optionally in your own private iCloud account), you are in full control of it:
ProtoQuick does not display advertising, does not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
ProtoQuick is intended for use by licensed or trainee EMS professionals and is not directed at children. The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
ProtoQuick is a personal reference and organizational tool. It is not a substitute for your agency's official, approved protocols, medical direction, or clinical judgment. You are solely responsible for verifying that any protocol, dosage, or clinical information stored or imported into the App is accurate and current. See the in-app disclaimers for more detail.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
